The true tale of Philip Freidin and his trusty band of Munchkins -- a group of the smartest, most talented people it has been my pleasure to meet. Among them were such amazing people as Neil Murray, Stephen Thomas, Lisa Rigby, Geoff Halprin, Robert Green, and many more from the early days of the Microcomputer Club Of Melbourne (MICOM). Back in the early 80s they designed and built an extraordinary computer in their spare time. And this wasn't just something cobbled together from a few odd parts. It was cutting-edge. They even wrote the microcode that ran inside the main processor. Phil asked me to write up a publicity piece about it, but with the help of Robert Green (who knew much more about the history than me) I drew up a cartoon piece about it. The Munchkin Project
